To: Potential Sponsors of the 2nd Annual Fundraiser Jazz Festival 2008

The Board of Directors of the Triad Youth Jazz Society in partnership with the Greater Greensboro Community Foundation, City Arts Council, 105.7 KISS FM (Steve Harvey Show), Coffee at The Summit, Wachovia Bank, Hilton Garden Inn & Suites, the Cemala Foundation and the Landmark Foundation (a division of News & Record), invite you to become a co-sponsor of the Second Annual Benefit Jazz Festival. This event begins with a series of workshops serving an intergenerational and diverse audience, April 29 thru May 2. The workshop on May 1 will feature “Road Scholar”, Emily Seelbinder, presenting “The Harlem Renaissance: An Explosion of African American Creativity”, co-sponsored by the North Carolina Humanities Council. Workshops will take place at the Cultural Arts Center.

Celebrity jazz artists that have committed to supporting this event are Mr. Reggie Workman of New York, Mr. Tony Vaughn of Boston, Mass, the NC Central University Jazz Ensemble, featuring Bradford Marsalis, Jason Palmer of Boston, Mass, Mario Hunter of Las Vegas, Nevada, and international jazz vocalist, Melva Houston. Local musicians will also be on the program. Other sponsors, already committed are AutoZone, Old Navy, Otis Spunkmeyer Cookie Co., Maaco, Smith-Stokes Chevrolet of Reidsville, and Leadership Connections.

We realize that you use your advertising dollars to carefully advance our community with particular focus on developing future leaders. Therefore, any donation you deem appropriate will be greatly appreciated and used for the purpose you designate. Your company/business or organization will receive high visibility and recognition as spelled out in the attached sponsorship package. We are in need of underwriters/sponsors for the following: (1) additional radio and television advertisements, (2) billboard advertisements; and, (3) ground and air transportation for honored guests. You may also feel free to donate to our scholarship fund.

History:
The Triad Youth Jazz Society is a non-profit organization for youth age 8-17. The program is designed to preserve the rich history of jazz music; and to encourage educational and career development for our youth trough weekly structured academic programming.
